Because chair massage has so many benefits, there are many categories in a corporate budget where it could fit. Employee benefits/perks, employee appreciation and staff parties, and even (especially) the corporate wellness budget.
A great option some of our clients use is to combine the budgets of a few relevant departments, so each chunk of budgeting covers a certain percentage of the program. Employer-sponsored massage is a perk for employees, but it also cuts down on your healthcare costs, and it's great for recruiting. So clearly, chair massage is not a simple one-category feature.
If you're looking for options to cut costs of the service entirely, consider bringing chair massage to your office on a less regular schedule. A one-off event has its' benefits, and a monthly program is going to be more affordable than a weekly program.
Sharing the Burden
Many of our clients use a cost-sharing method to bring chair massage into the office. This usually means employees who want a chair massage can contribute a small fee for their massage. This is still an enormous discount for the employee, and it takes some of the cost issues off the employer.
Even a contribution of $3-$5 per massage, or splitting the cost of each massage 50/50, can make a big financial difference.
When Cost Sharing Doesn't Work
If you think that a really great way to cut your chair massage costs (like, by 100%) is to have your employees pay for the service completely, you'd be wrong. (In our humble opinion.)
